Four realities first-time founders miss
Virtual vs physical address
The QE2 address is treated as your registered office and accepted by banks and the Ministry of Economy. It is not a physical office for your team. If you need dedicated workspace, you can add a flexi-desk aboard the QE2 or rent off-zone.
Lead time end-to-end
Trade license: 5–10 working days. Residence visa: add 2–3 weeks for medical, Emirates ID and stamping. Budget 4–6 weeks if you want the visa in scope on day one.
Corporate tax 9% trigger
UAE corporate tax applies at 9% on net profit above AED 375,000. Below that the effective rate is 0%. Free-zone “qualifying income” can stay at 0% provided substance and audit obligations are met.
Ship as registered address
Banks, suppliers and clients see “QE2, Mina Rashid” on your trade license, not a generic office tower. Most see it as a feature. A handful of conservative correspondent banks will ask one extra question. We pre-empt that during the bank intro.
